Yarn Fanatic Linky Party #29 – The Philosopher’s Wife Sponsored Giveaway – And My BIRTHDAY!
Can you believe it? Another week, another Yarn Fanatic Linky Party, and this time it comes with something extra special layered on top — a fantastic sponsored giveaway from The Philosopher’s Wife AND my birthday! If you’ve been following along here at EyeLoveKnots, you already know that these linky parties are one of my absolute favorite ways to connect with the fiber arts community, discover incredible projects from talented makers around the world, and celebrate the craft we all love so deeply. This week, we’re turning up the volume on all of that and making it a proper party. Grab your yarn, settle into your favorite chair, and let’s dive in!
Welcome to Yarn Fanatic Linky Party #29
For those of you who are brand new here — welcome! I am so glad you found your way to EyeLoveKnots. The Yarn Fanatic Linky Party is a weekly celebration of all things fiber arts. Whether you knit, crochet, spin, weave, embroider, or dabble in any other kind of yarn or fiber craft, this is your space to share what you’ve been working on, get inspired by what others are making, and feel the warmth of a community that truly gets it.
Every week, makers from all over link up their latest projects, finished objects, works in progress, pattern reviews, yarn hauls, and fiber arts adventures. It’s a genuine highlight of my week to scroll through all the submissions and see the creativity, color, and craftsmanship that you all bring. There is nothing quite like a community of yarn lovers coming together — and week after week, you all never fail to inspire me.
We’ve had 28 wonderful parties before this one, and if you’ve been here for any of them, you know the energy just keeps growing. New faces join every single week, friendships are formed, patterns get shared, and yarns get added to wish lists faster than any of us can keep up with. That’s the magic of this little corner of the internet, and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
It’s My Birthday!
Okay, I have to talk about it because I am genuinely excited — it’s my birthday! Birthdays, in my opinion, deserve to be celebrated fully and without apology, and what better way to celebrate than by doing exactly what I love most? Sharing fiber arts joy with all of you feels like the best birthday gift I could give myself.
There is something so fitting about celebrating a birthday in the middle of a linky party. This community has given me so much over the years — inspiration, encouragement, laughter, and some of the most beautiful friendships I never expected to find through a shared love of yarn. Every time I sit down to write for EyeLoveKnots, I feel grateful that this little space exists and that so many of you choose to spend a bit of your time here.
So yes, today is extra sweet. We’ve got a party to throw, a giveaway to announce, and a birthday to celebrate all at once. If you’re reading this — thank you for being here. Truly. This community is the best birthday present I could ask for, and I do not take it for granted for even a single second.
Now — onto the really exciting stuff!
Introducing The Philosopher’s Wife Sponsored Giveaway
I am so thrilled to announce that this week’s Yarn Fanatic Linky Party #29 comes with an incredible sponsored giveaway from The Philosopher’s Wife! If you haven’t heard of The Philosopher’s Wife before, you are in for such a treat, and I genuinely cannot wait to introduce you.
The Philosopher’s Wife is a beautifully curated fiber arts shop that carries some of the most gorgeous yarns and fiber arts supplies you’ll ever lay eyes on. The selection is thoughtfully put together with real makers in mind — the kind of shop where you can feel the love and intention behind every product. Whether you’re a knitter, a crocheter, or a spinner, there is something there that will make your crafty heart sing.
What I love most about The Philosopher’s Wife is that the shop truly understands what fiber artists are looking for. It’s not just about stocking products — it’s about curating an experience. When you find a shop that gets your passion, that speaks the language of yarn weight and fiber content and colorways the same way you do, it feels like finding a kindred spirit. That’s exactly what The Philosopher’s Wife feels like to me, and I think it will feel that way to you too.
I reached out to The Philosopher’s Wife to see if they’d be willing to partner for a giveaway to help celebrate both the linky party and my birthday, and I am so happy they said yes. This kind of partnership is only possible because of this community — because so many of you show up every week, engage, link up your projects, and make this space something worth celebrating. Giveaways like this are a way to give a little something back to all of you who make EyeLoveKnots what it is.

What Makes a Great Linky Party Link?
Since we’re on party number 29, I want to take a moment to welcome all the newer members of our community and give a little refresher on what makes for a wonderful linky party submission. If you’ve been linking up since the early days, feel free to skip ahead — but for those of you who are new or who want a little encouragement to link up for the very first time, this is for you.
The most important thing to know is that there are no wrong answers here. If it involves fiber arts, yarn, knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, or any related craft, it belongs. Finished objects are always a joy to see — there’s something so satisfying about a completed project photo with all that hard work on display. But works in progress are equally wonderful, especially when you share a bit about where the project is headed and what you’re excited about.
Pattern reviews and recommendations are incredibly helpful to the community. If you’ve tested a pattern recently, or if you’ve been working from a pattern you absolutely love, linking up a post about your experience is a great contribution. So many makers rely on honest, community-sourced reviews when choosing their next project, and your voice matters.
Yarn hauls and fiber finds are another fan favorite. Whether you scored a beautiful skein at a local yarn shop, discovered a new indie dyer, found an amazing online deal, or stumbled across a fiber festival you want to tell the world about, link it up. These kinds of posts have a way of sparking excitement and sending people off on yarn adventures of their own.
Tutorials and how-to posts are always welcome too. If you’ve figured out a technique that changed your crafting life, or if you’ve written up a helpful guide on something like reading patterns, joining granny squares, or choosing the right hook size, the community will absolutely benefit from your knowledge.
The bottom line: if you made it, found it, reviewed it, bought it, or taught it — and it’s related to fiber arts — link it up. That’s what the party is here for.
A Few Party Guidelines
To keep things running smoothly and make sure everyone has a great experience, here are the simple guidelines for linking up:
Please link directly to your blog post rather than your blog’s homepage. This makes it easy for other visitors to find your specific project or content without having to hunt around. When someone clicks your link, they want to land exactly where the good stuff is.
Visit at least a couple of other links while you’re here. The whole spirit of a linky party is connection and community. When you take a moment to visit another maker’s blog, leave a kind comment, and let them know you stopped by from the Yarn Fanatic Linky Party, you’re participating in something bigger than just sharing your own work — you’re building relationships and lifting up another creative person. That matters, and it comes back around.
Please no spam links, shop-only links without a related blog post, or unrelated content. Keep it fiber arts focused and everyone wins.
Sharing the linky party with your followers and on your social channels is always appreciated and never required, but it does help grow our little community and means more amazing projects for everyone to discover. Win-win!
This Week’s Featured Projects
One of my favorite things about hosting the Yarn Fanatic Linky Party is getting to feature some of the incredible projects that were linked up in the previous party. Every week I go through all the submissions and pick a few that caught my eye, made me want to pick up my hooks immediately, or that I thought deserved a little extra spotlight. These featured makers are chosen simply because their work moved me in some way, and I hope you’ll take a moment to hop over and show them some love.
The creativity that comes through in these linked-up posts week after week is genuinely humbling. I see color combinations I never would have thought of, stitch patterns I’ve never tried, and finished objects that make me want to cast on something new immediately. The community here is overflowing with talent, and it is such a privilege to be able to shine a light on even a fraction of it each week.
If your project gets featured, please know it comes with a whole lot of heart. It means something in your work sparked joy or curiosity or inspiration in me, and I wanted to share that with everyone else.
My Current Fiber Arts Adventures
Since it’s my birthday and we’re celebrating in style, I thought I’d share a little bit about what’s currently on my hook and what’s been keeping my hands busy lately. Because if there’s one thing that’s always true around here, it’s that there is always a project in progress.
I’ve been deeply in love with textured crochet lately — the kind of stitches that create beautiful three-dimensional fabric with interesting visual depth. There’s something incredibly satisfying about working a stitch pattern where the texture builds up row by row and you can run your fingers over the finished fabric and feel all that hard work. It never gets old.
I’ve also been exploring some new yarn weights and fiber blends that I hadn’t really experimented with before, and the results have been exciting in the best way. Trying something new in your craft keeps things fresh and teaches you so much about what different materials can do. I always encourage makers at every skill level to step just a little outside their comfort zone with at least one project a year — you might surprise yourself.
And of course, I’ve been swatching. Always swatching. I know, I know — swatching is the step many of us are tempted to skip, but it has saved me so many times from finishing a project only to find the sizing is off. I’ve made peace with the swatch. The swatch is my friend.
Why Community Matters in Fiber Arts
I want to take a moment to reflect on something that feels especially relevant on a birthday — the way that this craft connects us. Fiber arts have this remarkable ability to build bridges between people who might never otherwise cross paths. Through a shared love of yarn and making, connections form that are genuine, warm, and lasting.
Online communities like this linky party have expanded what was once a very local craft into a global conversation. A maker in one part of the world links up their project, and a maker on the other side of the globe discovers a new technique, a new pattern, or a new source of inspiration. That kind of exchange is extraordinary when you stop and think about it, and it happens right here, every single week.
The fiber arts community, in my experience, is one of the kindest and most generous communities anywhere online. People share patterns freely, offer encouragement enthusiastically, and celebrate each other’s wins genuinely. It’s a space that runs on creativity and kindness, and I think that’s something worth protecting and nurturing.
So if you’ve been lurking here for a while, reading along but not quite ready to link up — I hope today is the day you take the leap. The community is warm, the welcome is real, and your project deserves to be seen.
